What Is Doctronic?

How Does Doctronic Work?

The first step is to start a chat with our AI. (This will feel a lot like talking to a nurse or anyone doing your intake process in a medical setting.) At the end, we’ll give you possible diagnoses with probabilities and likely treatment plans. Need prescriptions, or want to video chat with a doctor? Our licensed physicians are available for telehealth visits within 30 minutes (guaranteed!) in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Who Can Use Doctronic?

Anyone 18 years old or older can use Doctronic. U.S.-based users 18+ can use our full service. International users can use our AI doctor in English. Parents and guardians: you can use Doctronic to help understand your kids’ health, but it’s important that you be the one operating the service, not the kids.

Is Doctronic Really Free?

Yes, it really is. Chat with our AI doctor as much as you like, for free, any time. If you want to save your chats, create a free Essential account. If you want the AI doctor to remember your health history over time, Doctronic Premier is $5/month (or free, if you need help with the cost — just ask).

How Private Is It?

Bank vault-private. Fort Knox-private. Nuclear codes-private. We are “privacy first,” always. Anonymous by default, we don’t even ask your name unless you create an account. We never train AI on your data. We never sell it. We never share it. Everything is HIPAA-compliant and secured. Want to disappear? Delete your account, and poof, your data’s gone from our systems.

What's the Difference Between Essential and Premier?

Essential is free, but not completely anonymous. It saves your chats and health summaries for your future reference.

Premier is $5/month (or free, if you need help with the cost — just ask). It includes everything in Essential, plus your AI doctor remembers you — your health history, conditions, prescriptions, and anything else you share — for truly personalized care.

No account is always free and 100% anonymous. You can share or download a summary of your chat while you’re still in it, but once you close your browser, the chat will vanish. (And no, we can’t retrieve it. Privacy first!)

Do You Work with Hospitals and Employers?

Yes. Some employers already offer Doctronic as a benefit with unlimited AI and human doctor visits. Check with your HR team.

What About Emergencies?

If you’re experiencing severe symptoms such as chest pain or trouble breathing, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Doctronic is a great first stop for any non-emergency health care needs, but you should get in-person help for potentially life-threatening conditions as quickly as possible.

Is There a Mobile App?

Not yet, but it’s coming soon. In the meantime, www.doctronic.ai works great in browsers on any internet-connected device — phone, tablet, or computer.

Can I Trust an AI Doctor?

You’re right to be skeptical, but Doctronic is different from other AI chatbots. We only use the latest peer-reviewed medical research to train our AI, and licensed clinicians and board certified doctors agree with our treatment plans over 99% of the time. Of course, AI does make mistakes, just like human doctors. AI can streamline and improve your medical care, but you should always review AI recommendations with a medical professional (ours, or your own).

What Can Your Human Doctors Do?

They can do everything a regular telehealth doctor can do: diagnose conditions, write prescriptions (except ADHD medications and controlled substances), order lab tests, provide doctor’s notes, and handle follow-ups. Visits with our doctors cost $39 without insurance, or your standard copay with your insurance.

How Do I Go From AI to a Real Doctor?

After chatting with your AI doctor, you’ll get an AI Consult Summary with all your findings and notes for your human doctor. Hit the “See a doctor” button to request a video call with a doctor who’s licensed in your state. (You can follow the same steps for any older completed AI Consult Summary in your user account, too.) Our telehealth doctors are available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Can I Skip the AI and Just See a Doctor?

No, because the AI chat is what makes your telehealth doctor visit so accurate and efficient. Our AI preps your case like a world-class medical assistant, so your human doctor is immediately up to speed. (Trust us, doctors LOVE this!)

What's Your Wait Time Guarantee?

Your telehealth visit with one of our licensed doctors will happen within 30 minutes of your request, or it’s free. Have you ever waited 30 days (or more!) to see a doctor? We guarantee 30 minutes.

How Do I Save My Chat if I'm Not Logged In?

Well, you can’t. “Privacy first” means we don’t track your chats. You can share or download a summary of your chat before you close your browser, or you can create an Essential or Premier account before, during, or just after your chat. But once your browser is closed, the chat is gone forever.

Can You Refill My Prescriptions?

Yes, except for ADHD medications and controlled substances. Your doctor will review your needs during your telehealth visit. If they can’t refill something we’ll automatically refund you for the cost of the visit.

How Do I Get a Doctor's Note?

If you book a telehealth visit with one of our licensed doctors, we automatically provide a professional note you can use for work, school, or travel — no need to ask.

Can I Upload My Medical Records?

Yes. Premier members can upload test results and other medical records for truly personalized care. Even better: soon, we’ll be launching free automatic syncing with every major health system’s records, making it even easier to share your medical history with our AI and human doctors.

Does Your AI Replace My Regular Doctor?

Our AI enhances and streamlines your health care; it does not replace doctors. We’re perfect as a first stop, and for quick questions, second opinions, and getting care at 2AM. But it’s always best to review AI recommendations with a medical professional (ours, or your own).

What Makes You Different From WebMD or ChatGPT?

For the record, we like WebMD and ChatGPT as resources. But WebMD gives you general information, not an actionable plan for your care. And ChatGPT isn’t private, it isn’t medical-grade, and it trains its own models on your data.
